ABOUT

ZAROYKO which launched mid 2019, is an experimental fashion project utilising hand painting techniques and recycled fabrics.
The conceptually driven collections record gestures from a labour intensive process. Repeated dyeing, painting and reworking of thoughtfully sourced fabrics is evident in each unique piece.
Artwork is fluidly translated into wearable pieces and the body becomes a vehicle for a new kind of contemplation.
Ideas of remix and reassemblage are referenced through Zaroyko's use of pre-existing garments and salvaged fabrics. As a result, quality textiles are saved from landfill. Zaroyko challenges the need for any off-shore, mass production and instead celebrates sustainability, local resources and artistic collaboration among peers.
